Sustainability means something different to each person. To some it means environmental stewardship and protecting our planet, to others it means keeping people safe and healthy, and for some it’s as simple as ensuring that their business is built to last and prosper. Hydrotex created the Lubricants for a Healthier Planet™ product line because, to us, sustainability means everything.
The Lubricants for a Healthier Planet product line was designed to improve worker and consumer safety, prevent harm to the environment and support sustainable processes while maximizing uptime, equipment reliability and profit. All used oils and greases in the Lubricants for a Healthier Planet product line may be safely recovered through used-oil recyclers. Hydrotex is consistently innovating to improve fuel improver safety, and has eliminated the use of particularly dangerous toxins and carcinogens found in traditional fuel improvers, such as benzene, toluene, xylene and cumene. Lubricants for a Healthier Planet are also designed to provide long oil life and extended asset life due to decreased wear, which reduces unnecessary waste and replacement costs.
Lubricants for a Healthier Planet products have demonstrated significant improvements over traditional lubricants and fuel improvers in one or more of the following categories:
- Minimally Toxic
- Resource Conserving
- Bio-Responsible
To be considered minimally toxic, the lubricant must:
- Contain no carcinogens
- Contain no mutagenic compounds
- Contain no acute toxins
- Contain no bio-accumulative heavy metals
Many of the products in this category meet additional health and safety classification requirements, such as NSF food grade, non-toxic to aquatic life, and safe for use in potable water systems.
Resource conserving lubricants and fuel improvers have all shown major proven reductions in energy and fuel consumption, and resulting carbon emissions. Hydrotex fuel improvers have also been proven to reduce harmful air pollutants such as carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides.
Bio-responsible lubricants make the most of naturally sourced base oils and biodegradable components. All bio-responsible lubricants are either proven to be readily bio-degradable, built from bio-preferred base oils, or both.
