NORTH BERWICK, Maine – July 12, 2016 – Michael Spencer, division partner, Hydrotex, will speak at the Maine Association for Pupil Transportation’s conference on Student Transportation and Safety to be held July 19-22 at Sugarloaf Resort. The annual conference attracts transportation directors, bus mechanics and technicians, and bus drivers from school districts throughout the state for education and discussion on industry-leading ideas and best practices.
Spencer’s presentation, “Principles of Clean, Dry Diesel Fuel Management,” will provide attendees with guidance on identifying and solving the key issues impacting fuel cleanliness. It will include topic background, actionable steps and audience Q&A as well as the opportunity to receive a complimentary fuel analysis.
“Fuel costs account for 40% of fleet overhead,” said Spencer. “It’s cleanliness impacts the longevity, efficacy and reliability of school buses. Fuel delivered by distributors typically carries 1.5lbs of dirt and 3.5 gallons of water in each tanker load of 7500 gallons. Those contaminants compromise long-term fuel injector reliability and increases costly unplanned downtime.”
As a Hydrotex division partner, Spencer advises transportation directors, bus mechanics and bus technicians on maximizing their fuel economy and reducing maintenance costs. He has eight years of experience with Hydrotex, a high-performance lubrication and fuel improver company and frequently travels around the state to consult and implement clean diesel programs.
Hydrotex lubrication consultant Paul Page will join Spencer for the 90-minute presentation. It will be held in the Caribou Room in the Grand Summit Hotel.
