Record Response to Lubrication University’s Fundamentals Course Shows Increased Interest in Professional Development
DALLAS – August 27, 2015 – Who knew the lubrication industry would be so enthusiastic about back-to-school season? Hydrotex’s Lubrication University reported that its Qualification School (QSchool) course, scheduled October 5-8, reached capacity within 17 days of registration’s opening and almost two months before the event. This sets a new record for Lubrication University’s bookings and reinforces what the organization sees as an increasing trend toward professional development in the manufacturing and fleet industries.
“This course filled three weeks ahead of schedule and has a growing waiting list,” said John Cummins, Hydrotex vice president and Lubrication University dean. “That, coupled with the caliber of attendees, indicates an increasing commitment to investing in proper lubrication practices training.”
Registered attendees include participants ranging from a world-wide soft drink company to a multi-national oil and gas company. More than 40 percent represent current customers that have incorporated Lubrication University into their continuing education programs and send a few employees each quarter to keep the entire department updated.
QSchool is a quarterly course covering the fundamentals of lubrication, including lubrication and grease principles, proper application, return on investment basics and oil analysis report reading. As part of Lubrication University, the course meets recertification purposes for the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals and the International Council for Machinery Lubrication. Lubrication University also meets the educational qualifications for Continuing Education Credits (CEU) as set forth by Brookhaven College.
“Educating manufacturing and fleet maintenance staff in proper lubrication fundamentals and applications can significantly reduce costs and increase productivity,” said Cummins. “Even an introductory training session helps technicians understand the basics and importance of lubricants and the lubrication process, accelerating operational improvements.”
QSchool is one of several professional development options offered by Lubrication University with several others that can be customized depending on a company’s needs and expectations. For more information, contact www.lubricationuniversity.com
