STLE Honors Newest R&D Member
We are proud to announce the newest member of Hydrotex’s Research & Development team, Dr. Asghar Shirani, was awarded the STLE Early Career Award in recognition of his outstanding technical achievements in the field of tribology and lubrication as a doctoral student at the University of North Texas.
Early Career Awards honor significant contributions to the area of tribology made by students, young researchers, and junior-level academic faculty. The winner is chosen based on solving a problem in the field of tribology, the novelty of the research and its impact on others, energy savings, or the establishment of a new technology. Dr. Shirani delivered an oral presentation “Tribo-Catalytic Coatings with Self-Repair Behavior in Alkane Environment”, which described the anti-wear capability of a group of metal nitride-copper nanocomposite coatings exposed to sliding in a liquid hydrocarbon-based environment.
